It’s our first time in Sikkim and honestly… we’re wondering why it took us so long to come here.

We begin our East Sikkim journey from the high-altitude village of Kupup, which became our base to explore some of the most offbeat places in the region. Our first stop was Memencho Lake - a stunning hidden lake in Sikkim that very few travelers talk about. We walked around the entire lake, completely taken by how raw, silent, and untouched it felt. You need special permission to visit this lake.

Next, we drove to the newly opened Chola Pass, where the landscape opens up and the history of this border region becomes impossible to ignore.

Just 20 minutes from Kupup lies Gnathang Valley, where we visited the iconic Bombay View Point. What we witnessed there felt unreal - a dramatic sunset swallowed by dark clouds, and then sudden snowfall all around us. It didn’t feel cinematic. It felt personal.
