Long overdue update review comparison of French knives including a new contender Fontenille Pataud. Where does it place? Am I too picky? Which is the best? Which is the worst? What did I have for lunch? All answered in this review.

Regarding my Con with the brand Fontenille Pataud. As explained in the video, the scales are not matching on both sides. I complained back in 2021 with no action as the result. Before making this review, I reconnected with the previous email asking if that was the final action which was inaction basically giving them a chance because I was going to review the knives. I received a response from Yann to which he didn’t like the “threat” but will fix my issue and that I can send in the knife.
I regret sending the follow up email. I have in the past received a defective product for example a flashlight in which the brand sent me a new working one. Sometimes a defective product can slip through the cracks and it’s not indicative of the brand quality. The reason I regret is because I feel I pissed off the owner to elicit that type of response to which I felt pissed off at Yann for insinuating as a threat as I stated I wanted to give a “fair chance” which I just regard as a professional courtesy.
In retrospect, I should have handled this back in 2021 but as I said in the review I thought I could just sell off the knife to which I couldn’t because of the same reason I don’t want to keep it. This gave merit to me that I was not in my mind being overly picky about the scales.
Anyway, the Pandemic happened during that time and I took a break from this channel which delayed this review.
I originally explained all of this in the review but I took it out because it felt long winded and distracting so I’m leaving it here for others to understand the situation better and my own thought process.
