How do you build a bridge of trust with a wild animal?

As a veterinarian and trainer, I've seen what "horse training" means to many people: commands and control. But what happens when we shift the goal from simple obedience to building a true, two-way relationship based on trust?

In this video, I'll show you what that process looks like. You'll join me and Zen as we work with Chilli, a young mustang who is learning so fast! This is what positive reinforcement (R+) looks like in action. It's a method built on compassion, science, and patience.

I'm so proud of how much Chilli has already learned, but what I'm most excited to show you is the incredible bond she is forming with us. It’s a testament to the power of giving animals a voice and a choice in their own training. This was a "wild" mustang only months ago. She has every reason to fear and mistrust humans, and yet she quickly learned to LOVE training. It’s a testament to the power of giving animals a choice and leading with compassion.
