Do Hanson Ka Joda is the story of Preeti, a young and dreamy girl who wishes to marry a handsome Bollywood-style hero. But life takes an unexpected turn when she ends up marrying Suryakamal, a simple and kind-hearted middle-class man. Her cousin Sumi, on the other hand, marries the good-looking Rishi, who turns out to be abusive. While Preeti slowly realises how loving and caring Suryakamal truly is, Sumi suffers silently until Rishi is eventually exposed and arrested. Preeti and Suryakamal grow closer during this time and even win a dance competition together. Meanwhile, the family faces several emotional moments—Preeti's father leaves due to family politics, and Suryakamal promises to reunite his broken family after his stepmother passes away.

As the story moves forward, new problems arise when Suryakamal’s family gets involved in a property dispute. Preeti’s brother-in-law is accused of violence, and secrets come out about the true ownership of the family home. Things turn dark when Ammaji and Ritu murder Suryakamal and hide his body. Preeti is left heartbroken and mistreated, but meets Chandar, a man who looks exactly like her husband. Eventually, Chandar helps uncover the truth of Suryakamal’s murder. In a tragic turn, Preeti is also found dead due to another evil plot. In the end, justice is served, and the story closes with the ashes of Preeti and Suryakamal being immersed together, showing their unbreakable bond even in death.
