In the 1880s, San Francisco was flooded with immigrants. Among them, the Chinese were heavily discriminated against because they were seen as cheap and tireless labor. Their social standing was extremely low, and many young Chinese girls were sold into prostitution or slavery.
In Chinatown, rival tongs were constantly at war, leaving the streets in turmoil.

Nellie was a kind-hearted American widow who dedicated herself to rescuing Chinese girls sold into prostitution. Ah Toy, the madam of the largest brothel in Chinatown, was also protecting the girls in her own way. Sharing the same goal, Ah Toy and Nellie met and eventually fell in love.

They built a vineyard in the countryside, where the girls worked and lived. But the land caught the eye of a developer, who set fire to it, killing many girls and destroying their home.

Ah Toy had no choice but to return to the brothel, take up her old role, and start a new fight…
