How to Replace Alternator Buick LeSabre

This video goes over how to replace an alternator on a 2004 Buick LeSabre with a 3.8 motor. This should be the same process for any (eighth-generation) 2000-2005 Buick with the same 3.8 motor. Most people believe that the battery is what provides electricity for your vehicle, when in fact it’s the alternator. The battery just starts the vehicle and the alternator takes over from there. An alternator is a type of electric generator used in automobiles to charge the battery and provide the power needed to run the electrical system of your vehicle once the engine is running. When the vehicle is running, the typical voltage is between 13.8 and 14.4, depending on the alternator's load curve and the state of charge of the battery. Signs of a failing alternator would be dim or overly bright lights, slow start or no start, dead battery, growling or whining noises, or the famous battery light glowing on your dash.
