How SpongeBob Got Away With Swearing

SpongeBob developed its own style of swearing: something that ultimately heavily evolved the show. As time went on swearing changed to meet the landscape of Nickelodeon at the time, being utilized completely differently between the various eras in the show's history. From actual censored profanity, to a whispered "barnacles", the show employed quite a range of color in its vocabulary.
