Meet Diana Eusebio (2016 Design & U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts). Diana is a Peruvian-Dominican textile artist based in Miami. Her artistic practice is centered on color and its cultural significance. She researches natural dyed textiles from Indigenous Latin American and Afro-Caribbean traditions, recognizing their connection to nature and their role as carriers of ancestral wisdom. Diana's fusion of ancestral and modern techniques, including dyeing and photography, contributes to contemporary cultural preservation and celebrates the rich heritage and Pre-Columbian knowledge embedded within these communities. Her work is a powerful testament to the enduring cultural tapestry of these regions. In 2024, Diana was the recipient of the YoungArts Jorge M. Pérez award.
This film was directed and produced by JeanCarlo Ramirez (2012 Film).
The YoungArts Presents series is supported by a multiyear grant from the John S. And James L. Knight Foundation, which supports digital innovation for the creative community.
