Aerides houlletiana & other fragrant Vanda Orchids

Today we take a look at a first time bloomer, my recent acquisition the fragrant Aerides orchid!

Aerides houlletiana is a vandaceous orchid species which is extremely popular in the hobby. More about it here http://www.orchidspecies.com/aeridesh...

The best features of this orchid are the flowers! It produces pendant, cluster like flower spikes, with yellow - purple flowers which have a wonderful citrus, lemon fragrance! It is a day time fragrant orchid and the scent is pretty powerful!
