Latrigg an Easy Wainwright Walk from Keswick

FASCINATING family walk close to Keswick

This hike up the smallest Wainwright in the Northern Fells is excellent for families or those wanting a gentle circular walk. This 10km (6 mile) walk starts in the picturesque village of Keswick in England's Lake District national park. Heading from the old railway station we journey towards Latrigg on Briar Rigg then on to Spoonygreen Lane over the A66.
As we ascend at the side of Bruntholm Wood there are great views over the surrounding mountains and towards Bassenthwaite Lake. Once reaching the bench, there is a commanding view over Keswick and Derwent Water.
As we follow the gently grassy path towards Blencathra the walk drops down to the old railway line for an easy walk back to Keswick crossing 4 bridges as the River Greta accompanies us all the way back to Keswick.
