The global language of photography | Jimmy Nelson | TEDxCannes

Between 2010 and 2014, Jimmy Nelson travelled the world to document some of the most fantastic indigenous cultures left on the planet today. In this personal and passionate talk full of beautiful photos, he shows us that from a life spent travelling, his camera is the perfect tool for making contact and building intimate and unique friendships.

Entre 2010 et 2014, Jimmy Nelson a parcouru le monde pour conserver une trace de certaines cultures indigènes les plus fantastiques encore en vie sur la planète aujourd'hui. Au cours de cette intervention personnelle et passionnée pleine de superbes photos, il nous montre qu’au cours d'une vie passée à voyager, un appareil photo est l'outil parfait pour prendre contact et construire des relations d’amitiés intimes et uniques.

Jimmy Nelson is a photographer. He covered a variety of themes, as the Russian commitment in Afghanistan or the fight between India and Pakistan in the Cashmere or even the beginning of the war in former Yugoslavia. He also realized photos for commercial advertising while accumulating the images of unique native cultures, photographed with a traditional camera. Become a project in itself, these photos illuminate the look which we can concern our societies.

Jimmy Nelson est photographe. Il a couvert des thèmes tels que l'engagement russe en Afghanistan ou la lutte entre l'Inde et le Pakistan dans le Cachemire ou encore le début de la guerre dans l’ancienne Yougoslavie. Il a réalisé des photos pour des marques commerciales tout en accumulant les images de cultures indigènes uniques, photographiées avec un appareil photo traditionnel. Devenues un projet en soi, ces photos illuminent le regard que nous pouvons porter sur nos sociétés.
