Description of "Shining a Light on Life":
In biology, imaging is a cornerstone of discovery. The Barman Laboratory develops cutting-edge optical imaging and spectroscopic tools to probe biomolecular and cellular processes with unprecedented sensitivity and specificity. By integrating biophotonics, nanotechnology, and artificial intelligence, their work pushes the limits of noninvasive and minimally invasive imaging, driving breakthroughs in biomolecular sensing and cellular diagnostics.
This talk will showcase key innovations, including virus-sensing and surveillance platforms, DNA nanotechnology-based probes for single-molecule detection, and AI-assisted quantitative phase imaging for tracking cellular dynamics. These technologies have the potential to transform biomedical research and clinical practice, offering deeper insights into disease progression and treatment monitoring.
