Heroes Remember: In the Heat of War

Canadian Armed Forces members took part in many peace support efforts in the former Yugoslavia in the 1990s and 2000s. It was challenging duty, especially in the earlier years when tensions were still running very high and violence was widespread. Robert Wiseman was born in New Brunswick and joined the military straight out of high school. He would go on to serve for many years, including peace support missions in Cyprus and Bosnia. In this clip, Mr. Wiseman talks about how the Canadian soldiers soon realized they were in the middle of a real conflict in Bosnia.
