You are my Friend, my Sanctuary, my heart-devouring Love
You are the One, the Refuge high, my Master from above
O, Keep me safe, O, hold me close, within Your holy light
You are the Companion of my soul, through every lonely night


You are the Noah, you are the Soul, the Conqueror and the Won,
The opening of every heart, before the day’s begun.
You are the Light, the Feast of joy, the Victory and the Grace,
The sacred bird on mystic peaks, who finds me in this place.


You are my Friend, my Sanctuary, my heart-devouring Love
You are the One, the Refuge high, my Master from above


You are the Drop, you are the Sea, the Mercy and the Fire,
You are the Sugar, you are the Pain, my only soul's desire.
The House of Sun, the House of Stars, the Garden of our hope,
You are the Path, the Way, the Truth, that helps my spirit cope.
Don’t hurt me more, don’t leave me now, just open up the door.


You are the Day, you are the Fast, the Fruit of every plea,
You are the Water, you are the Jar, the One who quenches me.
You are the Seed, you are the Trap, the Wine and Cup so bright,
You are the Raw, you are the Cooked, don't leave me in this plight.
Don't leave me raw, O Burning Love, and bring me to the light.


If this body ceased its weaving, if its restless mind would stay,
Then the heart would find its passage, and the clouds would blow away.
If the "I" within me vanished, if the words were finally still,
I would be the path of silence, moving by Your holy will.

یار مرا، غار مرا، عشق جگرخوار مرا
یار تویی، غار تویی، خواجه نگهدار مرا

نوح تویی، روح تویی، فاتح و مفتوح تویی
سینهٔ مشروح تویی، بر در اسرار مرا

نور تویی، سور تویی، دولت منصور تویی
مرغ کُه طور تویی، خسته به منقار مرا

قطره تویی، بحر تویی، لطف تویی، قهر تویی
قند تویی، زهر تویی، بیش میآزار مرا

حجرهٔ خورشید تویی، خانهٔ ناهید تویی
روضهٔ امید تویی، راه دِه ای یار مرا

روز تویی، روزه تویی، حاصل دریوزه تویی
آب تویی، کوزه تویی، آب دِه این بار مرا

دانه تویی، دام تویی، باده تویی، جام تویی
پخته تویی، خام تویی، خام بمگذار مرا

این تَن اگر کم تَنَدی، راهِ دلم کم زَنَدی
راه شدی تا نَبُدی، این همه گفتار مرا
