LAKEWOOD GOLF COURSE | Soju Shots

Welcome to Black Crown Golf. The mission is simple: Showcase all of the popular golf courses in Southern California and bring some friends along for the journey.

Peter's back in town to visit pops for his birthday and I was lucky enough to snag an early tee time at Lakewood. The last time I had played with Mr. Lim was for his birthday round a couple years ago at Los Serranos. It was good to see pops again to celebrate a little early with some birthday shots. Lookin good for a soon to be 66 year old but let’s just call it 60. I think the Lims secretly planned to mess me up on the back nine with some fine Korean spirit. They were giggling quite a bit after my little blow up on hole 10. Highly suspect if you ask me.

Mike joined us looking like Tiger Jr. from afar. Somehow he quietly took 12 skins which left Peter and I baffled. His game has been improving these days and I think I know where he's able to shave off some strokes. It all comes down to the short game ladies and gentlemen. The part of the game where it gets quiet as a church.

Peter and I resumed our rival match and had a side $10 nassau game as usual. I took the front nine by 4 so he pressed on the back nine to give him a chance to chop chop in case I still took the total. Well he decided to play lights out golf shooting 1 over to take the pressed back nine and coming in even for the total. Although I dislike ties when it comes to sports, I'll gladly accept a tie when it comes to these matches against Peter. For the records, we're 5-1-1 now. See you at the Black Crown tournament at the end of the month!
