 This primarily applies to GM fuel injection from 1989 to 1992 using the grey multec injectors.  These injectors were in corvette 89-92, iroc camaro 89-92, pontiac trans am gta 89-92, vortec 454 trucks 96-2000. Their symptoms are much like a bad spark, plug or plug wire. The symptoms also apply to MPFI in general on any car, but these model injectors are notorious issue that lead people to think there are other ghost issues, but usually lead back to these multec injectors.
