President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has commissioned Lot 1 of the Kampala Flyover Project.
The commissioned lot 1 of the project,consists of a flyover structure, road improvement/widening, signalization of the intersections, and the construction of the underpass;
➡️Clock Tower Flyover: Total Length 584 m 5(Bridge 366 m).
➡️Shoprite Pedestrian Bridge: L = 92 m (Three-pointed Star Shape)
•Clock Tower Pedestrian Bridge: L = 238.762 m (Circular Shape)
➡️Kibuli Pedestrian Bridge: L = 40 m
➡️Nsambya Underpass: Total Length 375.8 m (Open Cut Box Culvert L = 130 m), 4-Lane
➡️New Clock Tower Square
➡️Road Widening /Improvements: Total length 3,190 m
➡️Junction Improvements (Shoprite, Clock Tower, Nsambya, Hospital and New Kibuli) #KFOCommissioning
This project aims to ease congestion in the Greater Kampala Metropolitan Area by constructing the Clock Tower Flyover, an underpass at Nsambya Junction, and improving key roads & junctions.
I chose to go through the City Center and used the Kampala Flyover. I didn't encounter any congestion as we used to. It is not yet fully complete, but it has solved all our problems there!" H.E
