I create five miniature bonsai from a Portulacaria Afra 'Lilliput' plant. I bought the original plant at Walmart for 5 USD, and the pots on Amazon for 15 USD. The 'Lilliput' cultivar is a dwarf variety with small leaves and internodes that is great for small/mini bonsai. Succulents in general are a great option for mini bonsai, as they can tolerate drying out and therefore cultivation in small pots.
