Each of the four pieces in Moszkowski's opus 82 are dedicated to a different violinist, with each piece likely being written specially tailored for each violinist. The pieces were published separately, and bear no similarity to each other. The first piece of the collection, 'Les Nymphes', in F minor, begins with a delicately lyrical melody, before being interrupted by a playful capriccioso section. The lyrical and playful sections take turns, before joining each other at the end of the piece. The 'Caprice' begins with the violin alone, playing a tune reminiscent of Bach. The piano then begins a more Romantic passage, before the Bach-like melody returns, with piano accompaniment this time. The 'Mélodie' is a beautifully lyrical piece in G major, before entering a B section in the parallel minor. Finally, the 'Humoresque' is a fast-paced work written for the violinist and composer George Enescu. The piece bears some similarities to Spanish folk tunes - Moszkowski's other works in the Spanish style include his 'Spanish Dances' (op. 12) and 'Caprice espagnol' (op. 37).
