Finding Your Way with a Planisphere

Astro in the Home #13: Map the night sky by using a planisphere.

Host: This video is hosted by Jennifer Hardwick and Dr Kate Harbone from ICRAR.
Jennifer Hardwick is a 2nd Year PhD Student at ICRAR-UWA. She studies the relationship between the rotation speed of galaxies and other galaxy properties such as their mass and hydrogen gas content.
Kate Harborne is an Astro3D Research Associate who works with the GENESIS team. She has built a theoretical telescope for generating mock observations of simulated galaxy models. Through like-for-like comparisons with observations made by the MAGPI and SAMI teams, we hope to uncover the missing recipes necessary to understand how galaxies form and evolve over time.
