The co-director of the new movie about Madonna’s dancers, called Strike A Pose, says she purposely left the Queen of Pop out of her film so she wouldn‘t overshadow the dancers. Ester Gould, who was in Toronto in May 2016 for the film’s Canadian premiere, says the dancers are always asked about Madonna — “like, is she a bitch, how does she eat her salad?” Gould wanted to make a documentary truly focused on the dancers, their journeys, and their impact on gay culture.
