‪@bakulartal‬ Like the social structure of Assam, Bihu festival is a blend of Mongolian and Aryan cultures. There are many different types of Bihu, including the origin and formation of Assamese culture. From the time people learned to make agriculture their main occupation, the joy of harvesting became a collective custom and eventually became the Bihu festival. Agriculture in Assam was first introduced by the Austro-Asiatic and Tibetan-Burmese Mongols, so Bihu was originally created by these ethnic groups. It is noteworthy that no Austro-Asiatic language groups are currently found in Assam and DNA is not available. Evidence suggests that the ancients merged with the Tibetan-Burmese. Later, Bihu was influenced by the Aryan civilization. In the old days, young men and women used to dance and sing together on the night of Chat during Bihu. During this period, Bihu was dominated by the expression of personal enthusiasm and love, but religion and agriculture were also involved in parallel.
Bihu is believed to have originated from the ancient 'Bichu' The present Bihu originated in southern Assam. Haliram Dekial Fukan wrote, "Bihu is not in Kamrup, but more in Saumare (South Assam)" Like Baichagu of the Boros, Buchu of the Dimasas, Biju of the Tripuris or Pichu of the Tiwas, Bihu/Bichu is celebrated by the Chutia, Deuri, Maran and Sonwal tribes of Boro origin in South Assam. Earlier, Bihu was the main festival of the Chutia kingdom.
