It’s Time for Animaniacs on 3 Cartridge Consoles - Are They Playable 30 Years Later? ~~~ Episode 28

Ah yes, the beloved Warner Brothers (and Sister), Yakko, Wakko, and Dot. In these 3 games, you control their antics and switch between characters as you play some of the most difficult games of all time. Characters from the show are there (Hello Nurse!) and some are fighting you (Pinky and the Brain, and also Ralph the security guard).

The Sega Genesis and Game Boy versions (oddly) have the same plot and controls: you are attempting to collect items to open a memorabilia store. You swap between the characters to solve puzzles and fight battles in order to move along to the secret final stage, and then another secret final stage after the first secret final stage. It’s frickin’ hard.

On Super Nintendo, you are collecting script pages for a new Warner Brothers movie. And it’s also frickin’ hard since you can lose characters altogether in a level which will completely restart the game. This is a novel game with multiple endings, depending on how well you collect pages. But you’d never know because (see above) it’s frickin’ hard.

So what are we going to do tonight Ramsey? Same thing we do every night Paul, try to pass levels in some of the hardest games of all time!
