Unfortunately, the official Epic Games Launcher is not compatible with the Steam Deck. Even if you can get it installed, it relies heavily on Proton to work and is prone to randomly getting stuck in an update loop.

Luckily, this is where the Heroic Games Launcher for the Steam Deck comes in. This launcher has full support for your entire Epic Games Library and will notify you whether a game you are installing will run on your Steam Deck. Best of all, since it has Linux native builds, it doesn't rely on Proton to be able to function, giving you a much smoother experience.
