The best, remaining diesel sound in the world! 🖤 Baureihe 218, TB 11 greatness!! - Departure -

Now originally I would have figured this would have become the Sunday upload of this week, switching the British and the German week between next week and this week in order to accommodate the 1.75K subscriber special on the Sunday. But then the Thalys/Red Eurostar video exploded! Subsequently my subscriber count exploded, so I had to revert back to the original uploading scheme and now I had a great German capture, that following my planning now had to come on Friday... I didn't see that fit in well, decided to switch up the German and the Dutch upload between today and yesterday, so the German Sunday upload now comes today so that we can end the week tomorrow with the subscriber special, while still having the German week next week...

Now on to today's video!

The world has seen many, many fantastic diesel powered trains, and as an avid lover of Diesel-Traction on rail, I try and seek out as much as possible! Sadly almost all the great machines have long been retired by now, but there still is one classic left found in regular passenger service... That ofcourse is the legendary Baureihe 218 of German state operator DB! This year will probably be the last time I'll get to capture them in intercity service, but I've captured a lot of them last April and today we go back to one of my first captures of the day during that holiday, at the start of the line at my holiday adress Westerland on the island of Sylt!

Now some of the best captures I took of the BR 218 pulling the intercity are those at full throttle, but the engines sound just as beautiful and create a true diesel orchestra when revving up, going through the notches! The same goes for today's video of the special Märklin-Piko 218, nr. 497-6, which demonstrates a gorgeous toneladder with it's MTU TB 11 engine! Just listen to those details; immaculate!
