Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with Leotek EV Series LEDs, a General Signals Type 2 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO gate lights.

This was the only catch @train111 and I caught on November 22nd, as we came down here and waited for like eleven minutes, we finally heard the horn! And then, @train111 arrived to our spot and filmed the train with his camera. Plus, it was pulling three engines and hauling eleven passenger cars with two cabooses.
This crossing is a rather nice one, featuring an early 2000’s install. This crossing originally had incandescent lights, but then, sometime in 2021, CSX upgraded this crossing to LED along with most of the other crossings along the Kingsport Sub. Easily my favorite part about this crossing is the GS Type 2 e-bells here. This is the only gated crossing in Colonial Heights with two GS Type 2 e-bells. Hopefully they remain around for many more years to come, but, either way, I’m glad I got them recorded.
