Mrs. Eleanor Clarke's 100th. Birthday Celebration 27/9/1987 Lifford.

There was a wonderful celebration in the Lifford/Clonleigh Parish on 27th. September 1987 when Mrs. Eleanor Clarke, Porthall, celebrated her 100th. birthday. I share this video of the occasion celebrated by a very special family in the parish the Clarke family and sad to say a lot of them are no longer with us R.I.P. However it catches so much of our parish history at that time that I think there are many people who would enjoy to watch it especially Mrs. Clarke's 74 grandchildren and 54 great-great grandchildren who have probably never seen it. Fr. John Doherty was the administrator in the parish at the time because of Fr. McGaughey's illness. He also performs later at the family party in the Inter County Hotel as well as Hugo Duncan along with his guitarist Eugene McCosker., among others.Also the Murlog Band performed outside Murlog Chapel for Mrs. Clarke under the direction of Kathleen & Gerry Drumm R.I.P. Una O’ Toole working with DCR also recorded some interviews on the day and they can be heard at the end of the video.
