ವರ್ಷದಿಂದ ವರ್ಷಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾವೇರಿ ನದಿ ಬೇಸಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬರಡಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಂತರ್ಜಲ ಬತ್ತುತ್ತಿ ರುವುದೇ ಕಾರಣ. ಭತ್ಗತದ ದ್ದೆಗಳ ಅವಸಾನವೇ ಕಾವೇರಿ ಕೊಳ್ಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂತರ್ಜಲ ಬತ್ತಲು ಕಾರಣ. ಕಾವೇರಿ ಉಳಿಬೇಕಾದರೆ ಭತ್ತದ ಗದ್ದೆಗಳು ಉಳಿಯುವುದು ಅನಿವಾರ್ಯ.
