It’s the most wonderful time of the year
Here we go again! Another year, another secret santa … last year I was blessed with a gorgeous video (    • loki & clara; what died didn't stay dead. ...   ) from Jess, and this year I was fortunate enough to be her secret santa, so I could try to repay the favour ♥

I started out intending to make a multicrossover with lots of different pairing, but then I came across this little gem on her channel    • jaime & lyarra; where is your home, vagabo...  . and the idea just spoke to me. So I ended up doing a video with her OC Lyarra Stark (portrayed by Lucy Griffiths). I’ve also never used Nikolaj Coster-Waldau in a video before, which thinking about it is an absolute crime, as I’ve been crushing on this man since the 90’s, before I was old enough to even know what it meant to have a celebrity crush.

What if Robb Stark had a twin sister? What if Jaime Lannister fell in love with her? What if she fell in love with him too?
I’ve gone the enemies to lovers route with this one, whilst still trying to stay faithful to the information I had on “their story”.
Basically they meet in Winterfell, when the royal family visit and Robert asks Ned to be Hand of the King. Jaime is an arrogant pr**k at this point, but he finds Lyarra kind of interesting and likes to get under her skin. When Ned goes to King’s Landing he brings his three daughters and thus Lyarra and Jaime’s paths cross again. Later, when Catelyn Stark visits Ned, she takes Lyarra with her when she leaves and they end up with Robb, thus Lyarra is with her mother and brother, when they find out Ned has been killed and when Robb captures Jaime. Lyarra offers to return to King’s Landing with Brienne and Jaime, so she can get her sisters out. Brienne, Jaime and Lyarra arrive in King’s Landing shortly before the Red Wedding, and Lyarra ends up being kept there in the same way Sansa is, with Tywin intending to marry her off to Jaime, thus securing them Winterfell with the marriage between him and the eldest Stark sibling. However Jaime, who cares for her, refuses his father, as he won’t force her to marry him as a pawn in his father’s game. Lyarra, confused about her own feelings, leaves King’s Landing, but returns later, after realising she loves Jaime.
The ending is a bit vague, I know, but I felt I couldn’t keep on extending the song (I’d already extended it by 50 seconds), so I decided to end it there and then I might continue with a second part in the future, Idk, but if you want to know what happens next, I’d suggest watching Jess’ own video about them 🙂
I also thought the flow of the video worked better by mixing past and present rather than showing the story chronologically, though I understand if it can come off as confusing at points … which is why I added some scenes which are purely to help understand what’s happening around the “bubble” that is Jaime & Lyarra.
Side note: Before making this, I would have assumed Lyarra’s name was said in a similar fashion to Lyanna, but I looked around online and found a site that said the correct pronunciation of the name would be the one I did in the video … and if you, like me, hear the name differently in your head, we can just pretend her nickname is Lyra 😂
