This video is a simple but thorough introduction to the German verb 'verstehen' in its main tenses with ten fill-in-the-gap exercises to practise its conjugation. The present tense conjugation is explained, as are the base forms of the two past tenses, the future tense and a useful idiomatic use of the verb. There is a chance for you to practise your conjugation by pausing the video and trying out the ten example sentences on the second slide, using 'verstehen' in a variety of contexts and restarting the video to mark your answers.
