Fightin' Spirit developed in 1996 by Light Shock and published by neo Software is a fighting game similar to Street Fighter II. It was first released for the enhanced Amiga machines (namely Amiga 1200/4000) as an AGA version and later ported to the Amiga 500 as an ECS version. The CD32 version is identical to the AGA version. The AGA and CD32 versions support 256 on-screen colors at a resolution of 320x256 instead of the 32 on-screen colors at a lower resolution used in the ECS version. Apart from that, there are no big differences between the three versions at all.

In Fightin' Spirit you have the choice between ten main plus two hidden fighters with their special moves and various attack styles. The two hidden characters (Jenshi Yamamoto and Shiro Asuka) can be enabled by a cheat. Every fighter has four special moves which can be executed by a certain joystick/pad combination. The characters are accompanied by their various attractive backgrounds and animations. You can either fight in a VS battle(single fight against an human opponent), a team match or a tournament(up to eight human players can join a tournament). But the most interesting part is to fight in the story mode. Here you can pick one of the characters and join the Supreme Warriors Tournament where you can defeat Jenshi Yamamoto, the boss of the Hikawa secret organisation.

Fatal Fury is a fighting game series developed by SNK for the Neo Geo system. The first game of the Fatal Fury series allowed players to select one of three characters, Terry Bogard, Andy Bogard, and Joe Higashi, as they fight against eight computer-controlled opponents, ending with Billy Kane and Geese Howard. When a second player joins in, they have the option of either playing cooperatively with the other player against the CPU or competitively against each other.

Originally released in the arcade in November 1991 - it later was ported to the Neo Geo CD soon after the home console was released in 1994.

The game was ported to SNES and Sega Genesis by Takara. The Neo-Geo version was released onto the Wii's Virtual Console. It was also released as part of SNK Arcade Classics Volume 1 for PS2, PSP, and Wii.

The original Fatal Fury is known for the two-plane system. Characters fight from two different planes. By stepping between the planes, attacks can be dodged with ease. Later games have dropped the two-plane system, replacing it with a complex system of dodging, including simple half second dodges into the background and a three plane system. Characters have moves that can attack across the two planes, attack both planes at once, or otherwise attack dodge characters.
