STORY RECAP ]
Monica and Johnathan are dating, he breaks up with her because she's overly jealous leading to her yelling at his cousin because she thought it was "another girl". Since she's the Godfather's niece, she uses that to get him to kidnap John for her so she can try to force him back into a relationship which doesn't work, so in a fit of rage she orders them to kill him.
(Johnny had no idea she was the godfather's niece, but he did hear rumors. )
