1) Hydraulic system is the core of CTU as 90% working of CTU is carried out using hydraulic power.
2) The required hydraulic power is produced in power pack. Below steps are involved in production of hydraulic power.
a) Diesel engine produces mechanical energy (rotation of flywheel).
b) Gear box drive three hydraulic pumps from single flywheel.
c) Hydraulic pumps then produce hydraulic energy.
3) There are three drive station in HR power pack.
a) Double Vane Pump (feed BOP and Auxilliary hydraulic circuits).
b) Piston Pump ( feed injector hydraulic circuit).
c) Triple Vane Pump (feed Priority, Levelwind/override and Reel hydraulic circuits).
4) There are total six (06) hydraulic circuits in CT power pack. (will be discussed in detail in the upcoming tutorials).
