A functional description of some of the board level componentry of the jk bms 8s (aka jikong bms) active balancing bms.
I take a look at the onboard rs485 chips, the available ports, the processors and the Bluetooth module. I speak about probing the ports with oscilloscope, and how the rs485 port seems to be inactive, both at the port side and the cpu (TTL) side of the RS485 chip.
I have been so far unsuccessful at using either the RS485 or GPS serial port on this board to speak to the BMS, but I have been successful at 'piggybacking' the BLE uart on the module itself by pulling pin 11 high.
