I still get goosebumps watching this back. The sound design alone is worth it. Pure atmosphere. They nailed the feeling of being alone in hostile territory.

Tactical shooters used to mean something.

Slow breaches. Careful corners. One wrong step and it's over. Games that demanded patience and punished carelessness. Somewhere along the way, the genre drifted, faster TTKs, smaller maps, mechanics designed for content clips instead of tension.

Dagger Directive feels like a return.

No hand-holding. No minimap pings telling you where to look. Just you, your loadout, and the weight of every decision. This is the kind of tactical gameplay that rewards the players who stayed patient, who never stopped waiting for the genre to come back.

Maybe it finally has.
