Shooting both the Ricoh XR-7 and the Yashica Electro 35 GSN was absolute joy to shoot. Each had it’s own vibe when you shot them. The Ricoh looked more like a big boy camera with the large Marge 35-70mm f3.5 mounted to the front. The Yashica made me feel of course like Spider-Man, albeit a fat Spider-Man but it made feel like a street photographer.
That was more or less the approach for this particular day. Try to find the abstract, find the shadows playing with the light and just look for weird. I wanted to be “artsy” with my shots as much as possible. Searching for natural framing, differing contrasts in scenes.
The film in each camera is a 1998 expired Kodak TriX 400. There are videos out there that say to bump one stop per decade but that is not what i did, I think the results will show that i might have increased the ISO lol. In any case i think i managed to snap a few good ones in the mix.
I have loads more film to play with and the next batch will be thrown through an Olympus InfinityZoom 210. This will again be at box speed but that camera hits a bit different just based off previous outings with it. Blacks are typically DARK!. CAnt wait to shoot that.
Please enjoy the video and if you have any questions for me just throw them down in the comments.
