This is Magnificent unseen footage from the 2000 training halls and competition of the Olympic Weightlifting, Sydney 2000 event. An underground sport for many years Australia, most enthusiasts trained in their garages well before crossfit and other such novelties popularised the concept and earned their stripes well before modern show ponies came along and bean to strut around as if they invented the sport.

In the training Halls and Darling Harbour Convention Center for the 75,85,90 kg weightlifting olympic games events 2000. See Suleymanoglu's last competition where he bombs out in the snatch, the Mens 75kg featuring the Bulgarian battle - Markov v Boevski - and the first pioneer chinamen weightlifters before the current era, then the Mens 85 Huster, Dimas, Asanidze then the Mens 95 class - kakhiasvilis, kolecki and others. Chronological footage between training halls and the competition stage.
In training Kakhiasvilis was the smoothest lifter. Known as the computer - his technique flawless and absolute and directed control of the weight undeniable.
