Book of James Chapter 4 - Bible Study | Encounter 2020 Men's Retreat

Who are the happiest people in the world? Christians! Who are the most miserable people in the world? The "Carnal Christian."

Many will argue there is no such thing as a carnal Christian. Many believe the carnal Christian is one that has either never been saved or has been subjected to "backsliding." But even though the carnal Christian is born again, he still gravitates towards our 5 senses; the "flesh."

A Christian becomes carnal by yielding to their flesh which leads them into sin. A Christian becomes spiritual by confessing sin and yielding to the new-born spirit within. We learned that carnality does not separate us from God relationally; it separates us in fellowship.

Carnality runs through Scripture, even through great men as Elijah, Solomon, and David, who is known as a "man after God's own heart."

So, we too have hope! – Confess our sins! Acknowledge where we are at! The sinner needs deliverance from his sin nature through faith in Jesus Christ by new birth. The believer needs deliverance of practicing sins through discipleship and maturity.

There is no in between!
