The Swiss city of Geneva is located at the southernmost point of the vast Lake Léman (Lake Geneva). The majestic Mt Blanc may be seen from the city, which is surrounded by the Alps and Jura mountains. It serves as the Red Cross and United Nations of Europe's headquarters and is the centre of international banking and diplomacy. There is a strong French influence everywhere, from the language to the cuisine to hipster neighborhoods like Carouge.
