Rahn aen Lih Pingelap - Lih Pingelap Part 3

Kings Media Zone presents Rahn en Lih (International Women's Day) Pingelap 2020. The first group to start the festivities were the women from Pingelap with their entrance Dance and Song led by their President Her Royal Highness Sherry Ann A. Salomon, Princess of Pingelap, married to His Royal Highness Berysin Jr. Salomon - 3rd Prince of Pingelap, Son to the 29th King of Pingelap His Majesty Doahkaesa Berysin D. Salomon (MBBS) and Queen of Pingelap Her Majesty Kaesaewa Nancy G. Salomon.

The three groups represent the PIngelapese Communities established all over the State of Pohnpei - the Main Island of Pingelap, Mwalok in the Sokehs Municipality of Pohnpei, and Mand in the Madolenihmw Municipality of Pohnpei. While the Pingelapese were celebrating International Women's Day in Pohnpei, Pingelapese communities in the rest of the world were also coming together and celebrating their version of International Women's Day.

A typical Pingelapese festival involves a group that would write and compose a song and choreograph a dance. These entrance songs usually involve the group introducing themselves, who they are, greeting the community, and challenging their "opponents" for the day for a fun-filled, and very competitive, festivities that has a theme. This year's theme involves how Pingelapese Women would traditionally prepare Pingelapese local staple foods. 1st group - Coconut; 2nd group - Giant Swamp Taro; 3rd group - Breadfruit. The lyrics in the songs sung are instructions on how they prepare these food. At the end of every performance, the would close of the day's celebration with a game usually called "Micronesian All-Around" where it involves a competitive race to complete local, traditional, and even considered a routine Pingelapese daily tasks that usually involves weaving a specific traditional basket, husking coconuts, and grinding coconuts.
