In this video, I explain what protection at work actually is, why emotional regulation alone doesn’t protect you, and how people unintentionally expose themselves by reacting to moments instead of managing what happens after conversations end.
We’ll talk about why subjective feedback like “attitude” or “tone” is uniquely risky, how vague conversations get reused later, and why people often feel blindsided even when they did everything right in the moment.
This isn’t about escalating to HR, documenting everything, or assuming bad intent. It’s about understanding how power and memory work in workplaces, when de-escalation helps, and when it quietly stops protecting you.
