This video demonstrates the disassembly of a pair of 1982 Oldsmobile 307 5A Cylinder Heads. These are "smog" heads with the air injection ports. The AIR system in these engines uses an air pump to push air into the exhaust ports, this accomplishes 2 things. The catalyst is heated up and operating quicker to allow closed loop operation sooner, and it adds oxygen to help fully react (combust) any unburned fuel in the exhaust gases.
