Jesus Defended the Torah from the Liberalization of the Pharisees

Daniel Boyarin is a historian of religion, holds a doctorate from the Jewish Theological Seminary of America, and was appointed Professor of Talmudic Culture at the University of California, Berkeley.

Know this - the primary sin of the Pharisees was not legalism as is emphasized by many modern Christian teachers. No, it was their hypocrisy combined with their elevation of man-made rules over the Word of God.
