#garbagetruck Here is the first Electric Garbage truck to hit the streets of Orange County! 2550EV is the first electric ZR McNeilus has developed and you may notice this truck has a lot of various changes to the body compared to other ZRs, most noticeable is the battery behind the cab and the added on part to the hopper with the McNeilus plate. The driver of the truck mentioned he is able to do a whole route without having to recharge midday which was interesting to hear as other electric trucks on the market right now don’t have enough battery to last a whole day without having to charge. This truck is super quiet compared to its CNG counterparts, pretty interesting to see a truck where the arm is louder then the truck itself. I am glad I was able to catch the truck on its first few weeks on route while it’s still fresh and I am a big fan of the added chrome on the truck.
