We scrambled up Broad Gully on Brown Cove Crags to get to the 3rd highest point in England, Helvellyn. Most people choose Striding Edge to reach Helvellyn, but we fancied a different challenge. The weather was brutal at times, even turning into a whiteout at one stage. Despite the tough weather, we had a great time and even practised ice axe arrests.
