SARAB - HAYEDEH

Beautiful song by Hayedeh (lyrics by: Mahin Amid, Music by Anoshirvan Rohani) from the time that she was in Iran before the year 1979.
I have tried to translate the lyrics in English which is of course a very hard task as it requires one to have a good grasp of English literature to know and be able to use proper terms to express the feelings that is conveyed in original lyrics in other language (in this case Persian). If someone can offer a more accurate translation then I would gladly replace this one. Here it goes:

since the time that a wish turned into mirage
all searches of heart turned into unsettled questions
a thirsty never went in the search of fountains
life plans became like an image drawn in the water
so many burning sighs, remaining asleep on our lips
thousands of things to speak about
all lost in twist and turns
no mystic drive, no poetic excitement
and romance passed quickly in a rush
no time for complain, no story to tell
all faces of life became like a wish in a dream
an expecting look at the door
spending the whole life while waiting
never conscience until young-hood vanished

Hayedeh died in 1990 in exile after completing her last concert and while she was less than 50 years old.
