The Infinite Possibilities of Meta-narratives

Oneshot has one of the most fascinating meta-narratives I have ever seen.

Meta-storytelling often gets talked about only through fourth wall breaks, mostly used for comedy in movies, or for scares in games.

but Meta-narratives can take their storytelling so much further, especially when a video game uses the fact you can interact with it for its stories.
Because when I think about meta-narratives, I think about them through the lens of a story that is aware of its own fictionality.
Whether that be Monika acknowledging she's in a game in Doki Doki Literature Club, Undertale and Spec ops making you think about the actions you are commiting, or even OneShot playing with the idea of reality to a degree almost never seen.
