Dr. Dave Zaber: Lessons Not Learned: Industrial logging in the Chequamegon Nicolet National Forest

For our Wisconsin Mycological Society monthly members' presentation for December 2023 we welcomed Dr. Dave Zaber - an award-winning environment sciences professional. Dave offers a history of guiding public and private sector organizations concerning best practices for managing environmentally sensitive issues.

Dave has been working on conservation issues in the upper Midwest for 30+ years with a special interest in land management. His experience in working with natural resource and environmental policy initiatives has led him to develop a lecture titled "Lessons Not Learned: Industrial logging in the Chequamegon Nicolet National Forest".

In particular, we discuss the Fourmile project in the Chequamegon Nicolet National Forest. This area is near and dear to our hearts as a society of mushroom foragers and mycological researchers in Wisconsin. We survey this area and forage in spots within these woods.
