NANCY LYNÉE WOO is the author of the poetry collection "I’d Rather Be Lightning" (GASHER Press, 2023) and two chapbooks, "Bearing the Juice of It All" (Finishing Line Press, 2016) and "Rampant" (Sadie Girl Press, 2014). She is a 2023 recipient of the California Creative Corps grant, and has received fellowships from Artists at Work, PEN America, Arts Council for Long Beach, California Center for the Book, Idyllwild Writers Week and Literary Women. Her poetry has appeared in many journals and anthologies, including Radar Poetry, Confrontation Magazine, The Rusty Toque, and Stirring. She has co-founded multiple nonprofit arts organizations, including the Long Beach Literary Arts Center. She has degrees in sociology and creative writing from UC Santa Cruz and Antioch University LA.
Interview host AMANDA KOENIGSBERG is a poet, creative writer, and educator whose work— “often rooted in the verdant familiar and the fantastical”—has appeared in several L.A. area publications, including Cordella, Off Menu Press and direct object. She holds an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from Antioch University, L.A., and a B.A. and M.A. in Creative Writing from Loyola Marymount University, L.A., where she has worked as a professor. She currently chairs the English Department at a Los Angeles high school.
