Castilian Spanish Language
Castilian Spanish, or español castellano, is the standard variety of Spanish spoken in Spain and serves as the basis for the Spanish language worldwide. Originating from the Castile region, it is characterized by its distinctive pronunciation, such as the "th" sound for "c" and "z" (distinción), unlike Latin American Spanish. It is the official language of Spain and is regulated by the Royal Spanish Academy (RAE), which maintains linguistic standards. While Spain has other co-official languages like Catalan, Galician, and Basque, Castilian Spanish is the dominant and most widely spoken language across the country.
